Hello, I am working on a 1999 SLK 230. I suspect the timing is off because its throwing sensors. Does anyone have a diagram/step-by-step proceedure on the timing for this car? I cannot find the placement marks/help please.

A timing chain is not going to slip. It will stretch just a little through out its life but not enough to notice. Has your timing chain been removed and reinstalled?

Yes it has had some engine work done to it in the past. The cam shift position sensor keeps getting triggered. I replaced it but it is still trips the red engine light - I reset it with the OBD II over and over. Plus sometimes when the car is started I let it idle then sometimes when I go to give it gas it stalls out When I try to restart it - I got power lights but no engine turning and cannot be started again till it cools down - It baffles me...
