5Liter, yes it does have a cam sensor which I hear can go bad. I have one on the way just to say it's been replaced. I don't think it's the issue but am going through all sensors that are known to go bad over time as preventive maint.

Photodude, agree and you hit exactly my concern around injector testing. This thing runs absolutely flawlessly except at high RPM. It's not load specific either as proven by light throttle high rpm setting the code also. I've thought about injector removal for cleaning...don't know where I'd send them though. I see some on-line companies that do this type of work exclusively and surprisingly doesn't look to be very expensive at all.
It looks easy enough to take them out.

I've been running Liqui-Moly cleaner, but will take a while to get through a tank or two.

Car has extensive records indicating great maintenance, but I have no idea what kind of fuel was purchased by PO. I have been running exclusively 92 octane (as high as I can get around here) high quality but non-ethanol (which is also very hard to find around here) as it doesn't degrade as quickly from what I understand.

No big update. I replaced the cam sensor for good measure but no change. As of now, the car is nicely in the garage on the battery tender. After we get through the winter months, I'll probably end up taking it to an indy in the area that gets good reviews and has STAR.
I, frankly, don't have the time to purchase a bootleg system, learn how to use it, then hope to find the problem.

Progress, sort of. I now have a driver's side secondary Cat that sounds like it's full of gravel. This may be related to the high RPM miss. Yes, this was mentioned earlier in this now rather lengthy thread.

What are my options? MB part number 129-490-22-20-80 for the driver's side primary and secondary system isn't available that I can find. My local exhaust shop isn't interested in putting in the Magnaflow weld in cats, but I did find Davico Manufacturing part number 18186 for about $500.00

This system is also available via Performance products (used to be Eckler's MBZ parts)

Anything I'm overlooking? I'd rather do a direct replacement.

Thoughts?

No codes for o2 sensors. There was some welding slag in the o2 bung that I didn't notice when I was hand installing. Once I realized it was an issue I couldn't get the o2 sensor back out without a wrench, which wiped out the threads, so the driver's downstream sensor is new, the others "look" fine. (chased the threads with a tap after that run around) I've not looked at the data they are sending, nor would I know what I'm looking at.
