I found this G500 on sale.

This ad says [br]
1999 MERCEDES-BENZ G500 GELAENDEWAGEN. Green, 5 Door, 4x4. Over $20,000 in off-road modifications, lifted, front grille guard and side bars, BFGoodrich LT 315/75 R16 TAs, sunroof, 2 airbags, power windows, locks, seats, heated seats, rear wiper and defroster, PDL, tail light covers, leather, 75K miles. As new condition. $52,495.
It seems like a very nice catch - I wonder what's wrong with it?

The image proves that the winch bumper does not serve the vehicle well. The approach angle has been reduced and the winch is in a position where the roller fairleads hit the ground on steeper climbs (notice how the rollers are bent downwards).
I have to search for the video clip of Mike Serpe in Moab approaching a climb, only to ram his winch into the rock. nasty sound!

it has a "water/flood salvage title," was orig. bought from an insurance company. I read this somewhere, thought it was in his ebay descrip.

.....don't quote me on that, come to think of it the water damaged one also had a DVD player in its dash...
The water damaged insurance salvage is a G320.

Yes, I was thinking the winch was placed a bit too close to the ground.

This car is in nice shape, I've checked out (not completely), but overall it's nice. The price is way too high. The owner's brother also has a 300GDT that norm is also selling on consignment as well. 97k miles.

Question:

where did you find that ad posted?????

please advise...

Hi Mserpe! I found this on DupontRegistry (he probably thought this is how he could get away with the selling price). Here's the link:

http://www.dupontregistry.com/search/srDetails.asp?itemid=208333&sessionkey={562854E4-C044-49C4-8995-E4351A399809}

The page says that a dealer named Norm Keiser is selling this vehicle and for more information, go to his website. However, his website has not been updated in a very LONG time. So I suggest if you want more infomation, try calling him. Good luck to you.

Cheers!

if norm has it, it's about 20 minutes from where i live, and is on the way to my folks house. I can also give it a once over and a test drive if anyone's actually intersted. I wonder why selling.
