The AC in my 1999 E300 cuts out when I ask for too much power from the engine, however it does not take much for the AC to be turned off. If I drive over 80 mph, no AC. To keep the AC on, I have to accelerate very slowly. This problem just started. To verify that it was not a bad AC clutch, I spliced a wire into the AC clutch power wire, and ran the test wire inside connected to a volt meter. And when I ask for too much power, no AC and no power to the clutch. I spend a lot of time on the highway and have always run 80-85 with no AC problems. Does anyone have any suggestions on diagnosing the Wide Open Throttle sensor?

Respectfully,

Dave

hey Dave ... feel your pain ... i'm not sure about your model, but have you checked the blower regulator, if it has one?
