On the rare occasion after the glow indicator goes out the car will not turn over. Had codes checked seem to think that code B1148has something to do with it. code says output circuit 50 has a short circuit to ground or open circuit. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Circuit 50 is the voltage level generated by the ignition when the key is turned to "start" from "run". It is generated by the EIS, and goes through the K40/2 (fuse and relay module at the driver's side) and ends up at the IFI or ECU (in gas models).

In all likelihood, it is a problem with an aging EIS contact which causes intermittent opens, or a corroded connector somewhere.

Without the presence of Circuit 50, the IFI/ECU will not activate the start relay which in turn engages the starter to crank.
