I have "burnt" my 3rd key since ive had it
Mercedes saya the max amnt of keys for my car have been purchased..so I need to buy a ignition barrel/key set if i want to start my car
if the security system wont respond to my current key im wondering
if when i change out the ignitio/keys will the security system be able to "read" the new key ? will it allow my car to start and run?

You need to describe your problem better. Unless you throw keys in BBQ grill they do not get burned. :)

" So this is how the AAM module works. We have 8 keys per AAM. Each key has 3 tracks. If you lose key 1, you can still order up to 2 more replacements of the exact same key. I.e. the AAM can work with up to 24 keys in total.

My new key is #8, if I lose it I can still order up to 2 more #8 keys."

So you would of needed to of gone through
24 keys. (though he may be talking a later ML and it may be different for a 98.

Like Witek said we need more info.
