Hi - I own a 1997 c280 and I am having a minor issue with the AC. The AC runs fine when open and full power. It throws cold air and at full power. However, at times, when you are driving, the power of the AC will be reduced..eventhough it is still throwing cold air, it seems like the blower lost power. About 20 seconds later, full power comes back. It it goes like this on and off.

Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this? I did see and read a separate post on an AC problem with a 1997 c280 and I was wondering if the fault diagnostic might show something for this problem. I am hoping that someone reading this has experience the same problem and knows exactly what the problem might be.

Also, can a normal person fix this?

Thanks again

Quite possibly the blower motor voltage regulator. Common issue on MBZ. Id start there. Its under the passenger side of the dashboard. The underdash panel will need to be removed. The regulator is typically attached to the blower motor. If you get flit out inspect for rust as its quite common. May not hurt to throw one of those in also. Good luck.
