On Sunday, I tried to start my car and it wouldn't start. I tried to start it over the past few days and today I recalled a thread where someone had the same problem. I tried to start the car in Neutral and it worked. That person said it was a bushing that was causing the problem. Has anyone else had this issue? If you have, what was the cost to fix the problem?

Your 1996 is W210 model.
Neutral safety switch on those is part of big computer board and cost hefty $$$$.
Bushing? The shifter is electronic switch, I don't think you will find a bushing on it.
But wait a minute. you might have the older 4-speed transmission? Folks in W124 section are familiar with it.
