I've repaired/soldered a lot of Infrared Remotes in the past for customers. It's a very simple procedure and with little soldering experience you could do it. There's a good procedure out there by fupabox on YouTube. He made a good tutorial. That's worse case scenario if the reprogram does not work. :p

first try the procedure in the manual for resyncing the remote. If the battery was (a) dead or (b) took more than about 15 seconds to change, chances are you need to resync the remote.

if that doesn't work, there is a chance that the switch is bad and as mentioned above may need replacing. After doing that you WILL need to resync.
