I have a 1996 C280. The engine runs beautifully but I have a problem that has risen recently. The engine will just randomly turn off, especially at low speeds such as a traffic light. When I try to start it, it turns over but doesn't fire. This never happens on the highway. When it shuts off, its just as if I turned the key. Sometimes it doesn't happen for 2 weeks, then other times it will happen 2 times in one day. There are no engine lights lit up on the dashboard. But here's the weird part. I normally have to wait around 10 minutes before it wants to start but if I open the trunk and close it, it will start right up. Its very strange. I have read online that it could be a crankshaft position sensor but any additional advice I could get from you guys would help greatly. Thanks!
