how do I get the original one out? There are two plastic clips on top and two on the bottom. I am having a hell of a time getting to the ones on the bottom.

The trim piece at the bottom is hard to get to as well since there is a third screw I am having a hard time getting at as well.

Any tips or advice on what tools are needed or if I am missing something? I have screwdrivers, socket sets but everything is so hard to get to.

I even tried taking the headlight assembly but again there is a third screw that I am having trouble getting to on the left next to the fan.

You have to remove the entire lamp unit from the car. Once out, those clips are easy to work with. Also, there is a philips head screw to remove located on the motor-side, outside upper corner of the lamp unit.

Done. Amazing what happens when you purchase the correct tool.

Thanks!
Just curious...what is the "correct tool?" I had no problem using my basic wrenches, sockets and screwdrivers.

8mm wrench. I had a 8mm socket which I was able to get all but one screw with that. I didn't know this but my dad informed me this morning that there is a tool set for the car in the trunk. Good to know for next time...

lol. Every one of my cars have a 120+ wrench and socket set, 20+ screwdrivers of varying lengths and sizes, hammers, pry bars, umpteen various pliers and clamps, and more. Each is a mobile shadetree mechanic shop.

Yeah I need to have a tool kit in each car, I am slowly learning on what I need. Maybe one day I will be proficient with the Mercedes and in the mean time all I can do is learn one step at a time.

One thing that needs to be done is engine mounts, hopefully I can get that done in the next few weeks.

Fortunately, these are the easiest cars I have ever changed mounts on.

Should not take more than a few hours. Raise the car on jacks, lift the engine slightly from underneath with a scissor or hydraulic jack, unbolt and replace mounts. Sure...a bit more than that, but that is the gist of it. Use the Search function to find specifics, and step-by-step.
