I know I read somewhere that it was designed into the M104 transmission to delay the shift from 2nd to 3rd when cold. Something about catalytic convertor? I live in southern Florida and it doesn't get cold and I don't like revving my engine up over 2,000 rpm waiting for that first shift. Anyway of disabling that "feature"?

Thanks, Bill

Search the forum for "upshift delay valve"

The feature is designed to get the entire drivetrain up to temperature faster, not just emissions, and helps promote longevity.

Upshift delay is all managed by the ECM and temperature dependent. It is disabled when coolant temp reaches 50c. If you live in a warm climate, then it disables faster.
