Hello,
MBEpc points that the engine wiring harness for the SL320s with .991 engines with serial number up to 011341 (with some exceptions that this car is not into) has the A 140 540 69 32 part number, which is discontinued
The one for the later ones is the A 140 440 99 05 which fits engines with the serial number 011342 and up, it is still available, for stupid money
The other one is the A 140 440 46 05 harness which says to fit engines up to S/N 236205 with an exception this car is not into, but it says "FOR VEHICLES BEFORE 10/94,THE WIRING HARNESS IN KG 54 TU 120 IS DOCUMENTED IN VEHICLE", what does this mean? It is still available at a more acceptable price

I admit this will fit this car, but. does this part have any differences compared to the one that is guaranteed to fit this car?
I did notice some cars have a different intake temp. sensor:

Some have this type as my C250 TURBODIESEL has

Other cars have this one (like the car i'm fixing)
When did the intake temp sensors change design? What type of connector does the A 140 440 46 05 wiring have?*
Are there any differences between the A 140 540 69 32 and the A 140 440 46 05 harnesses?*

Cheers,
Simon

Edits:
46 05s have the new style IAT connector, they changed in S/N 011342
69 32s have 21 connectors and 46 05s have 22 connectors

The starter harness was poorly "rebuilt" by an idiot that was cheap on wire and didn't use the correct length and routed it incorrectly, not to say the wires he used are crappy chineese wire that you buy on the hardware sore for cheap. It was done before 2006 so renewal time it is. Oh and the terminals were crimped with some normal pliers and it looks ugly
The mechanic ripped my father off 11 years ago, he said he replaced the harness with an upgraded one but the damn thing still says 94, it could have been replaced with another used one but it is crumbling now
I recently repaired the alternator harness for testing purposes and it will be replaced now with a genuine new part. But i think i will re-do it with some actual good wires and not crappy ones for testing purposes

What part number was the wiring you got?

Cheers,
Simon

If they're wanting a newly rebuilt harness, I would pull what they have and send into MKB-TEC. I found out about them from someone on YouTube comments section and the prices seem very reasonable

I personally just got a used Delphi rebuilt harness on eBay (~$500) and then had ProgRama rebuild the throttle body
