Its easy to disconnect the cylinder actuating rod to try the clutch pedal without the cylinder. This will help isolate the problem to cylinder/pedal pivot. Remember that the slave cylinder also pushes on a lever with a pivot point, and that could be gummy as well.

that's what im leaning towards, is a gummy pivot. it's ONLY when its super cold out, and ONLY on pedal return. the pedal goes bwwwwwwwwwwwwAP back rather than returning in a snappy fashion.
