A mint looking 1992 S350 turbo diesel with 185000 km's. caught my eye.I am aware that the 1990/91 MB 350 SDL/SD's diesel's were known as the "rod benders" and were unreliable and most were on their second engine by now.
Is a 1992 with the 3.5 six diesel the same as the 90/91's , or had MB fixed the problems with this diesel.

No they were the same engine but I doubt that there are many left with the original engine. If yours has that many kilometers on it then I'd say it's safe.

Use only ultra low sulfer fuel as that was what Daimler-Benz said was the problem with the overheating (which is what caused the rods to bend)

No, same rod bender. It's a first year W140 to make it even worse. I wouldn't buy it unless it has a new engine and proof of a correct installation. Even with that, be ready to put money into it on a regular basis.
