Hi every one . I have a super clean and well maintained 600sel ,1992
I was trying to figure out front suspension rattle at the low speeds .
Finally found it .
Right front ADS shock has this 1/4" free play between the compressed movement,
Like something inside has loosen down.
I was able find practically new front shocks from later model .
My original shock has a long wire attached to it that leads all the way under the hood .

New shocks have just a plug. I was able to identify the plug and got those.
So before I go and try to burn something I would like to ask if Mercedes had a updated harness for that reason .
92 style shock is not made anymore.
If I can buy a new harness from a dealer I will do it.

This is correct. The older style front ADS part number is deactivated and the new shock absorbers do not have the wiring attached to them.

Also, I don't believe you can buy the harness separately. If the existing one is in good shape, you might be able to reuse it (or make a new one using it as a template - there are only 3 wires to it)

that is correct . Just don't know what which wire does what .

And new shock will be even harder to identified .
I guess I will stat with some ohm readings between that wires .

Electrical diagram for the ADS system of your car is attached. Y51 and Y52 are the two front ADS shocks.

And this is for the later style, notice that the pinout of the N51 (ADS controller) is different but the colors of the wires is the same. This should help you identify them.

Replaced today right front shock and got it to work.
No more noise , drives like new again .
Electronic solenoids working correctly .
