I have done some work on my vehicle, and still trying to get the vehicle steering correctly.

I have replaced the front and rear shocks. The steering feels much better, but still a little strange. When I corner, the inside wheel doesn't seem to dip down into the turn like it should. It also feels a little wobbly (the car rocks a little side to side) when going over uneven roads.

Should I be looking at Track rods? Steering damper? Drag link? Idler arm? Boots?

If I do the work myself, will I need an alignment?

How are your swaybar links? If the wheel is moving with bumps in the road then you need to replace your steering damper.

You need a mechanic who knows how to align your Mercedes. I had a shop do it and it felt exactly as you described. Then I found someone who knew how to do Mercedes and it felt back to normal. Caster and Camber could be off in the front.

I am still a little confused about what the problem might be. I would like to learn a little about how the front end steering works. Anyone know of a good resource for learning?
