Upon my return to the US, I started looking for 300SL in the Internet.. Two months later I found a 1991 300SL, California car owned by a retired educator.. I test drove it once and I wrote him a check just like that.. I bought the car with my Combat Tax Exclusion tax free and Family Separation Allowance..
I drove it home with 69,740 original miles.. What a buy.. I have been tinkering wit it ever since.. replaced the missing bracket for the exhaust pipe..
