This vehicle is Artic White with deep blue interior 89k mi. Car is in outstanding condition. I recently replaced the headgasket, guide rod bushings, front steering components st. damper, all tie rod linkages and cut the rotors and replaced the 2 flexible A/T hoses under the radiator. Fortunately I have a Hoffmann lift making the work easier. I have previously owned a 1962 300d, a 1964 600 Grand and many other interesting makes and I have to tell you the work went very smoothly due to a large part to the fine engineering. The car idles very smooth and quietly at 550 rpm. The control rod bushings made a huge difference and were easy to install. Watch out for the nut retainer straps! Next project will be transmission pistons, filter, vac mod etc. I reside near Nyack, NY.

Is it normal for a straight 6 to idle at 550? Mine only drops down there when it is in gear... warm idle is around 600 or 650.

I cleaned and lubed all the throttle linkages and set the cruise control linkage and its down from 600 to 550 and very smooth with great oil pressure too.

Mine also idles at 650. 550 seems low. Ditto on pics! Would love to see it :)
