Could anybody give me a hand on removing the front seats of my 1991 300GE? I'm having trouble getting access to the bolts, and all of the nuts that are available are welded to the steel box under the seats or to another square nut beside it.

Try this...

Not sure on the early W463 models, but on the W460 (at least mine anyway), you slide the seat all the way back and look inside the seat track exposed and you will see the allen head nut on each track. Use an allen wrench and unscrew. Then move seat all the way forward and you will have access to the 2 allen head nuts on the rear.

I would use an allen head socket with an extension once I loosened a few turns with the cumbersome allen wrench.

I found the front nuts a bit more difficult to get access.

Hope this helps. Good luck,
