Okay, its been some time. I brought my car to the Mechanic and he tells me i the car needs to have a tune up done. The spark plugs are barely hanging on and with just one finger you can remove them. Im going to purchase the kit, who should i use? Autohausaz.com, who should i purchase the kit from? When i bought my head gasket kit from mercedes, they did not include the studs, rubber flexible gasket or the o rings you see that are advertised when you google headgasket kit. The only thing i got was the actual head gasket, then the gasket kit for the exhaust. I dont think im going to be ordering the kit from mercedes. They would probably not give me everything i need and they would also nickle and dime me. Im open to suggestions. AutohausAz has a full kit for $304.73 Here is what you get AAZ Preferred 104TUNEUP2KIT Ignition Tune-Up Kit; Cap, Rotor, Seal, Plugs, Wire Set; KIT SKU: 1193947-104TUNEUP2KIT - Mercedes

those wires look like junk. get these wires instead,

the 'correct' Bosch Super (copper) plug is apparently NLA (I bet you do NOT get F8DC4 from AZ, instead they will substitute either a R(esistor) or an Iridium plug, neither of which is correct for the M103 ignition system). Beru still makes a suitable plug. There was a good plug from NGK, but they too are apparently NLA.

this rotor: Mercedes Distributor Rotor - Bosch 1031580331
this cap: Mercedes Benz Distributor Cap - Bosch 03240
and this protector disk: Mercedes Distributor Cover - Bosch 1230500176

At this point in the life of these cars, you should replace the dust shield/insulator too. It is the orange bakelite disk behind the rotor mount.

My UK specialist confirmed what I've found. Latest Beru and NGK suppressors don't fit well on the the plugs - no satisfying "click".

I'm a bit lost in terms of finding "quality" leads. Has anyone recently bought the genuine MB cable, suppressors, crimp terminals etc.?

Beru is a better HT lead then Bosch set i had before and sent them back ...So maybe Ray you have a set of cloned ht leads i had a set of Bosch that were rubbish with no click as you fit them on and remove them they were cloned from China .. Also its possible to have the top terminal of the plug screwed on upside down .The crimp tool to asemble the screw fittings to both ends of HT leads is very expensive .And another thing there are a few types of ht leads best to make sure on the Beru or Bosch web site,, the set for your car . .

Is that all i would need to do a tune up?

It might have been stressed before, but I stay away from kits. Best to buy the best of every piece Unless an interworking part like cap and rotor.
I would just make a list, find the best prices on each and order online after checking price and availability at the dealer.
I usually do not mind paying 20% extra at the dealer, for most parts that is the mark up these days for "non-consumables". Consumables are sometimes higher.
If too high I just go on-line.

Unfortunately, you have to do your homework and make that list....
