While idling my oil pressure goes up and goes down, the needle beats rapidly up and down. Oil is fine, fresh and up to top mark on my dipstick. I heard that old corroded fuses can cause symptoms like these. do I need a sending unit or a new gauge...any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

In the majority of cases, the sending unit is the culprit for the fluctuations in the gauge. At idle, the gauge should be at 1, to 1-1/2 bar and go to 3 at any speed off idle.

Change it out at the next oil change.
