hi folks, i would like a little info, i have had the inj pump replaced on my 300td, it was replaced due to poor idle & bad nailing' " lack of fuel at low rpm, worn delivery valves'. after pump was replaced all good, great smooth idle, no nailing. Performance is great, MPG @ 37mpg, only problem is the amount of black smoke when accelerating or when ever engine is under load. once cruising there is no smoke.
Do i need to have the ALDA adjusted, if so how is it done.

Note: with the old pump the performance off idle was fine with no smoke and the same MPG.

thanks very much.

Yeah, it sounds like you may need to pull the ALDA and remove shims, or adjust the screw under the cap. It shouldn't be smoking very much upon acceleration.
