I got busy with other cars and other things lately so I have not worked on the W124 much until today. Myself and a friend dropped the valve body today on the car and replaced the springs. More or less the car shifts are way firmer and I am able to chirp the tires between gear shifts but I still do not have 4th gear. I am still not fully convinced that the car does not have some dirt or debris in the valve body channels that I am not able to see.
Couple of questions:
1. Does anyone know if anywhere that they sell re-manufactured valve bodies for these cars and/or somewhere I can send mine that does high pressure cleaning to get all the channels cleaned up?
2. I have access to a diesel transmission, does anyone know if the valve body would be the same between the gas version of this car and the diesel? I wanted to swap them and see what would happen.
In the meantime, here is some pictures of the work today if anyone is curious or would like it for future reference.

My dear wife owns a 200K miles plus E320 wagon, 2002, she will not let loose of! I must say it has served us well, engine original, gear box replaced with a rebuilt at 140K. But with any old car come problems: her gas tank charcoal canister is shot and each time you pump gas and try to even...
