There is a leak from the very front drivers side of the engine bay. It seems like it is coming from this hose (circled in red on the picture). The hose doesn’t seem to grip the pipe tightly, but I can’t make it any tighter. Can someone please tell me what is the purpose of this hose / what fluid is that is leaking from there? Thank you.

Hi, it's the suck-side (means no pressure) of the power-steering system. The tube comes from the steering box and routes the oil througt a kind of "cooler" and the to the pump.
Those tubes shrink and harden over the years but it's a very common hydraulic standard type. Just replace them by new ones (the ohter one as well) and then it will be fine for the next 30 years.
