87 300e Sat for 2 years, due to a thrown rod, disconnected the battery and drained the gas.

Replaced the Engine with one from a 73k rear ended 300E

Added 10 gallons of fresh fuel.

1. The fuel pumps did not kick on, so I jumpered pins 9 and 11, they came on and I have GREAT pressure to the fuel distributor.

Replaced the fuel pump relay behind battery with a used one, so THEY COME ON, GREAT PRESSURE ON THE VAC AND SUPPLY LINES, AND COLD START INJECTOR..

2.Car starts and RUNS FINE with starting fluid.

3.Checked for fuel at the injectors by removing their lines, NO FUEL TO THE INJECTORS.Even while cranking the engine over

FUEL PRESSURE IS GREAT AT THE COLD START INJECTOR, NONE TO THE OTHER INJECTORS

So I buy a new fuel distributor, NEW EHA and used unit below THE FUEL DISTRIBUTOR, THAT THE DISTRIBUTOR BOLTS TO, still same problem and no return on parts!:crybaby2:

4.The only other weird thing, is that , when you open the door to get in, the red SRS light is lit RED, Im guessing that normal.

Help me out guys, I'm sure there is a simple explanation.

OK JUST PULLED THE COLD INJECOTR-BLUE

the line still connected, turned the car over it shoots out fuel while cranking ! :),and yes the car will start, then die(no idle) on its on, no starting fluid

whats next, the problem, is no fuel to any of the injectors,

well it appears my distributor for the fuel is shot , according to the mechanic's opinion on here.

I am assuming these can be rebuilt at a dealer or carb shop? or send it back to bosch to be rebuilt, which is cheaper?

I dont know what the inside look likes are if there is a rebuilder's kit etc

ok gang,

what should my fuel pressure, be? its an 1987 300e?

I AM GONNA CHECK THAT BEFORE I ORDER ANOTHER FUEL DISTRIBUTOR.

The guage is hooked up to the fuel line on the right(towards the driver side).

Now , One question, there are 2 fuel lines, the only one with pressure is the line toward THE FIREWALL. Not the one onto the regulator.

Talking my findings
My findings are that while reading the fuel pressure(rear fuel dis hose alone), the single line(from both fuel pumps of course, linked to this one line), my meter read 170+psi of pressure

BUT VERY LITTLE FUEL CAME OUT THE GUAGE RELEASE VALVE

So upon investigation, I removed the fuel filter line, and cruddy(brown) looking stuff came out.

Replaced the fuel filter and fresh gas,

NOW I HAVE A LOT OF FUEL SUPPLY BUT LOW PRESSURE, THE PSI IS ONLY 40, BUT A LOT OF FUEL COMES OUT THE RELIEF VALVE.

Proper PSI is 79 , I also have fuel at the top of all lines at the distributor, and some at the injectors, not enough pressure to drive the injectors.

At this point, Im highly suspecting both fuel pumps are in need of replacement, since when tested, they have 12 volts+ but only supply 40psi of pressure together, when one should be 40+psi, the other 40+ psi =80+

Be patient guys my back is sore and we will get to the bottom of this.Im not giving up, until its running!

ok we got both fuel pumps replaced, they too were bad!

even though they power on when the key is on, there is not enough pressure to drive the fuel distributor,

BUT WHEN I JUMP THE FUEL PUMP PINS OR POWER THE PUMPS DIRECTLY, THE FUEL DISTRIBUTOR NOW WORKS FINE, ALSO I HEAR "OTHER ITEMS" STARTING TO FUNCTION WHILE THE PINS ARE JUMPED, MEANING THIS IS A MULTI PURPOSE RELAY NOT JUST A FUEL PUMP RELAY.

A new fuel pump relay is in order and ill update you guys on the situation:eek:

Son of a !!!!!!!!!

As hard as it was to put this motor in, my friend screwed me!!!

I dont know if I want to replace or rebuild, or junk this car now.
