It is very common to have follower or even cam wear. But even more common is a broken spring IN the lifter. They are located at the end of each rocker. Remove valve cover , put cylinder 1 at tdc, now move the rockers for cyl. 1 up and down. there should be no play. If there is see where its coming from. Next, turn crank till #5 is tdc. Going through the firing order, check for play in the rest of the rockers. 1 5 3 6 2 4
