Hello All,
I have a 1986 Mercedes 300 SDL that I would like to sell. It's got 226,000 miles on it and runs, but not so well. I will be frank and won't sugar coat anything. I am selling my Mercedes because I don't have the time, money, or resources to properly restore/repair and maintain this car. I just bought a Mazda Miata and no longer need this car, though I must admit, even through its problems, I did like it. I would like to get at least $1500 but will consider all offers. To justify this, my car has the 603 engine with the #22 head which I've seen sell alone for $750. Fair price? I think so.
The bad:
-Burns a quart of oil every 150-200 miles
-Nock in engine, don't know what's causing it
-Sometimes gets stuck in first gear ( about once or twice a month )
Short term solution: shift into neutral and then back into drive
May be low on transmition fluid
-Needs new tires very soon
-Memory seats forget
-Clock, radio, and dash backlighting does not operate
-Small rip in worn drivers seat
The good:
-Clean title
-603 engine with a #22 head ( I've seen these heads alone sell for $700 )
-New oil and filter less than 1000 miles ago
-New battery
-Still is a pleasure to drive
-All seats but the drivers seats are in pretty good condition
-Power windows work
-AC works
-Heater works
-Body is very straight with only a few door dings
-Still gets 20-25 miles to the gallon
Here is the link to more pictures of my Mercedes: http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157635106529184/
For any questions, feel free to email me. I live in the Sacramento area of California.
Thank you, Phillip
