If I didn't have school breathing down my neck I would be posting as the owner of this car.. The one time an awesome car actually shows its evil face here in Chicago, I have to be worried about something else!

Somebody please buy it!

I'd be more than willing to help anyone out that's out of state.
Have you seen the car before? If so, any word on the condition.

I talked to the gentleman and didn't get that excited feeling after talking to him. He's a dealer, very brief in his description. Doesn't want to discuss car much just wants to know if you're buying it or not. I have a ton on my plate right now but the car looks great (from a far). After the conversation I didn't even have the desire to ask for more pictures.

I could be wrong, could be exactly want someones looking for even being sold by a great guy. I'm usually led by first impressions though :(

I haven't seen it, but will be going in the afternoon today to look over it and take it for a test drive. I'll post back my findings with pictures and a description.

Just an FYI, seller hasn't been returning my calls for the past hour or so.

I'll still be trying throughout the day to get in contact and try to go look at it.
I'm determined.

For some reason that does not surprise me. I called the owner last night and he was very abrupt and almost seemed like he was annoyed someone was asking about the car. The car is located at a used dealership somewhere, but know one seems to know exactly where. He just said to me "come look at it, we are open from blah blah to blah blah" and then hung up the phone :1poke:

Well guys, I saw the car and had a very pleasant conversation with the fella selling it. I guess you guys aren't used to the way the Chicago folk do business. ;)

Anyway, as of today, the car has a deposit from a local buyer. So it is *no longer for sale*. Speaking to the seller, A LOT of phone calls and emails about the car and A LOT of people coming by to *look* and browse his lot.

As for the car?

-- Car was traded in (by older couple) for a newer E class he had on the lot. I went through the entire car from head to tail. Zender bodykit, AMG Penta wheels, AMG steering wheel are all genuine! Car was very heavily optioned as well - Webasto pre heater, MB radar detector, heated front and rear seats, reclining rear seats, rear passenger footrests to name a few. The car at one point had an AMG exhaust, however was replaced due to rust reasons with a brand new exhaust from the dealership.

-- Engine - While not an AMG engine, ran like a euro engine with logs should run. Started it up from dead cold and settled into a very smooth and nice 1k (+/-) rpm. Once warmed up, hovered beautifully around 6-700 rpm. Engine powered through all the gears and red lined without problem to 80mph. Transmission shifted crisply and very quickly. Had some seepage around the oil pan and near the corner of the trans pan, but nothing excessive. Trans fluid blood red. Oil golden brown. Coolant clearish gold.

-- Suspension - Holy crap. Original AMG springs w/ replacement bilstein HD shocks. Who knew this big heavy car could corner almost as well as my coupe! Stuck hard with minimum body roll.

-- Interior - Not the best of shape, but manageable. Glove box wood was knocked out in an attempt to open it as the lock mechanism would not unlock. Wood trim around the car was manageable. Seats, no rips, but dirty. Carpets, excellent shape. A decent scrub would have them looking like new.
Headliner was perfect. No signs of leaking from the sunroof.

-- Paint/Exterior - Paint was in OK shape. Car was re cleared at one point. I'm assuming in an attempt to repair the front chin spoiler (which has bondo signs) and an overall touch up for the whole car. New clear was peeling in one spot and revealed a beautiful undercoat.

-- Rust - None. Which amazed me. Notorious rust under windshield? Nope, not even there. Solid as a rock. It did have some awkwardly cut out holes for a sound system that was in the trunk at one point, but those were fine IMO.

-- Overall - Damn.

I forgot to take pictures.

Just kidding. Here they are. :D
