This is a 1985 Mercedes 500SEC with 233,000 miles. It unfortunately met a pole last night that has crunched the front end, hood and radiator. Engine is the aluminum European series that is still in great condition and transmission was rebuilt less than 10,000 miles ago (cost $3500.00 alone). Asking $1600.00 or Make an offer. It can either have the front end rebuilt or be used as parts. Will not sell in pieces. I can't figure out how to post pictures again...email and I will send you pic of damage.

does it still run and drive? seems a bit pricey for a wrecked 500sec being that driver condition cars now run close to that, good luck none the less! I've always lusted after the SEC's

It still runs and drives, I however had it towed from the accident site to alleviate any further damage to the vehicle. The price really is because of the cost to rebuild the transmission. If anything, that alone is worth it. I had it posted here a couple months ago and ended up deciding to keep it. Bad idea.

ohh man you really smacked it :( hope nobody was injured

it would be a good deal for someone who specifically needs that transmission and other 500sec parts. The trouble is finding that someone, and close by. In my experience parts are much easier to sell than parts cars, easier to convince the wifey of buying a transmission than dragging home the whole damn car! :D
