The '85 was the first full production year for the 2.3-16V and the car didn't really change much during its production run, until replaced by the 2.5-16, which was not sold in North America. If it's a euro model, it was likely a "gray market" import and was modified to US DOT standards, ie. headlights, emissons, etc. Hopefully they kept the euro fuel pump relay, which allows the engine to rev higher than the US models. Euro specific parts may be hard to come by, especially if it has the euro a/c and heater system, but otherwise, the US parts will work.
