We still have the original sticker from when my dad bought our 300TD in 1982. It stickered out at $32,000. Quite a sum for then. Of course since the early '90's, when MB went through alot of changes, the sticker prices are a lot lower when you adjust them out. The early 1990's is when MB went from being a company run by engineers to a company run by accountants and more profit minded people. Some people say that the product has suffered because of this, myself being one of them. Don't get me wrong, they are still good cars, just not as good in so far as being built to last. The newer MB's seem to be more disposable.

my '83 300TDT

I purchased my 300TDT from the original owner, and it has records showing $33,450 as the price, but this was the turbo, wagon, sunroof, leather, power accessories, third seat option car

Production for 1983, 20,005 units worldwide

The price was $30,530 EAST Coast, for 1982, so we may assum at least north of $30,000. Special equipment, automatic transmission, electric windows, leather seats, heated rear window, metallic paint, Becker AM/FM/ Cassette, sunroof, rightside mirror, lighted sunvisors, etc. You can get a printout from MB Classic web site that gives you the original equipment and manufacture date. Go to MBUSA then to MB Classic site. You will need your complete VIN. [:D]
Hey Ed...

I've tried to look for that before, MB CLassic with unique vehicle info. Do you have a link for that? I don't see it when I click on "Mercedes Classic"

TIA

Is that the site where you have to fill out a form ...because I didn't see a direct link to finding out vehicle information?
