This should be easy, but can anyone advise on how to remove the air filter cover...I have removed the wingnut on the top, and unlocked all the clamps, but the cover still holds tight, I think secured by the connection you see on in the center of this picture. Not sure whether I should just pull hard on that connection to remove, or what, but don't want to force it. It seems to be what is holding the cover in place, after I have loosened all the clamps/wingnut. Thanks for any input.

just pry on that rubber/plastic hose, it should just pop off

that hose is connected to a piece on the bottom of the air cleaner assembly, so it is not possible to remove the top without removing the hose

Just pulls off but ....

Inspect it for deterioration, cracks or hardening. If it is it will leak oil and make a mess.

Inexpensive part available everywhere.
