hello guys, i am looking at purchasing a 1979 300d. where should the oil gauge be at what number during idling? does driving a few miles or the engine being cold make a difference. my friend will be checking this car out for me as it is in california and i want to tell himwhat to be looking for. thank you in advance everyone you help is greatly appreciated.

At a idle in gear i'd say any pressure above 1bar(15psi) is good. Its not really the pressure at an idle that counts, if the pressure can stay up at 3bar(45PSI) while driving then its okay.
