Hello guys,

I would be glad if you could help me out with my 450 SLC's data
On the data plate it is written : (other than the VIN and engine number)

8D 7700013 83
107024 12 03286 5
876G M 0

What do these stand for?
876G is the color code (Cypress green) I know, but what about the others??

Optional list: 592-603-638-993-997-437-466-586
From these numbers above I could not find: 603-638-993-997 ??

I appreciate your help in advance

Kutay,

I BELIEVE the 03286 (not sure if the "5" is included) refers to a "body number" MB utilized in their assembly process. In the case of the W113 (Pagoda), the last 4 digits of the "body number" were stamped on the top left edge of the engine hood and under the rear bottom of the hardtop (supposedly also inside the soft-top comparment - however, I have only confirmed the hood and hardtop number). In the case of the W113, this number was utilized to "match" the parts during the assembly process and is inspected by collectors to assess originality and determine if any frontal collisions occurred that resulted in a hood without the body number. I GUESS those last four digits may also refer to the body number of the R107. However, let us hear from somebody else here.

Regarding the "0" that appears after the "876G" (Glasurit) body color, this number is utilized when the car has a hardtop. IF your car were a SL (and not a SLC) and had a hardtop in the SAME color as the rest of the car, the code would read "876G M 876G". If the hardtop were in a DIFFERENT color (say black which is "040"), the SL would read "876G M 040G".
