I have a 1974 W114/072. I really need to know where to go to find part numbers for this car. I have found that through application does not work in the US for this model. I also need help finding any vacuum/electrical diagrams. My last request is to find the tune up specs. Such as what spacing for the rockers, points gap, timing adjustment, and spark plug gap. Is there any other fluid or other standard maintenance things I should be aware of that are different on the Euro model compared to the US model?

I know this is a lot of questions but I am quite lost at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

For parts, I would recommend (if you are in the US) using EPC. Start here:
EPC-net Online
and click "subscribe". For those reading that don't know what 114.072 is, it's a 280 CE. You can get a Mercedes 114 shop manual, but that might not have what you want. You might want a M110 shop manual. Ebay or on CD from the Classic Center. Vacuum diagram - try searching PeachParts. Others may have more helpful specific suggestions but this is enough to keep you busy for a while...

I just joined Benz-world. I own a 1972 280CE I just finished rebuilding. I went through every ordeal you could expect and collected lots of information along the way. If you are still looking for answers, I could help you.

Hi Buddy, Well an update on my situation. The big problem I am having at the moment is a ineed a 0280100111 for my car. Someone installed a 0280100100 in it before I bought it and all of the crazy tuning issues I have been having with it are due to this. My search is on at the moment for one btu I have only found new ones so far and I am trying to save enough money for that.

Pressure manifold sensor

Hi, I finally found you back. Problem with my computer.
As you say, part# on your PMS should be 0 280 100 111. ( I checked on my car ). You have four connectors pins. You should read 90 ohms between pins 7 & 15
and 350 ohms between pins 8 & 10. This part could be found on EBay. It was al so installed on Porsche, Volvo 264 Saab and Opel. You can have lot of info on

In an article written in the Mercedes-Benz Club magazine years ago, it states that the ECU rarely fails. Trigger points are often the main problem. On my car, I also had to change the throttle position sensor. Car is now running great but I am still looking for an auxiliary air valve ( choke element ) witch I damaged when rebuilding the engine.
