The other day the front right fender trim fell off! The front-most post seemed to break off (rust). I received the new trim piece, and I'm current waiting for the new retainers. I have a couple questions before I start this project.
The new piece - I see the L Bracket, the middle post - push in, then the front post that appears to be a threaded post. Does a nut go on the other side of this post or is it simply for additional gripping when inserted in the retainer?
The old piece that is in the retainer that broke off. What is the best method for extracting without damaging the paint?
I'm including pictures of the old and new trim piece.
