If you are considering re-sale value, keep everything as original as possible. If you are just looking at it as a driver, don't be as concerned. It would be easy to spend 15,000 on a good body and paint job. Fenders and rear quarter panels are 2,000 each. As has been mentioned, it would be worth it in the long run. Total production for the coupe and convertible was 5,187 units from 1968-1972. Price was $31,140 East Coast in 1970.
