Getting ready to remove cab for some pretty extensive welding repairs and had quick question about removing emergency brake cable from handle assembly. I have lower rod unscrewed from clamshell (mine has threaded end and nut appears to be welded to it) and can see cable end through small hole at end of tube. Diagrams show nut on end of cable but I'm uncertain about how to access it. Do I release it at other end (at connection at rear under truck) and then pull lever handle out to expose nut on cable end?

Thanks to any and all for any guidance. This forum has been critical to my trying to understand a bunch of issues as I proceed through this project.
Best,
Adam

You need to remove the cable at the back of the truck, then pull the handle out enough to get to the cable and unscrew it from the handle. Then you can pull it out the other way after removing the wheel inside of the housing by pulling the pin out of the center. There are snap rings on the pin on both sides. Put it back the same way.
