I have a 1985 190E with the 2.3L 8-valve engine. The car idles at 900 RPM with AC on, and around 1000 RPM with AC off. When I put the gear in D or R, the idle drops to 700 RPM (AC on), which is about right. However, when I move the steering wheel all the way to the left or right, the idle drops to about 500 RPM, and the engine stalls. It seems as if the power steering pump is putting too much load on the engine. Has anybody experienced this kind of problem?

You're inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
