I have the same kinda problem with my 89 190E.Infact i bought the car like this. The handbrake button is missing and the spring is just hanging there and is loose.It just comes out if pulled. Any suggestions???

Buy a new one and push it back on. You have to push it really hard to get it to click back.

You can try pushing the old one back on but it will probably come back off again soon after.

Hey Jnolee, does ur hand brake still work even without the button or not? Iam asking u this caus mine dosent work at all.I mean its just loose. So i was wondering, in my case, is it just the button or something else aswell? Anyone???
