i have recently replaced my standard 190e 2.0 engine & gearbox with a 2.5-16v. All the looms and electronics had been done by a mercedes specialist, however after the conversion with full service being done i am suffering with a major problem-overheating!!! i have no air-con as i have had the air-con pump removed from my car so i thought that it will be best leaving my standard RADIATOR, which is new left on... also my present engine is over reving for some unknown reason...i need some help & your expertise, whilst my mercedes technician is on holiday for 2 weeks!!!!

What all did you have done for this conversion. Why would you use a 2.5-16 trans with a gearing ratio that is so close and put it into a car w/ such low torque & hp. It just doesn';t make any sense. But that is just my $.02 worth.

allright, i dont if you ever looked at the 190-n16 but i believe that they did come with a standard innercool, i'd argue that your overheating problem is due to the fact that you existiong fans are too small or will just not do, ide look into an innercooler. as for the overreving check two possibilities. either check your computers shifting points or mkae sure that your fuel injection is calibrated (both should be done by a certified mercedes tech if they are MB parts)
