Mercedes-Benz 190E 1990 for sale - TradeMe.co.nz - New Zealand
I'm looking at this 190E for my friend and I'd like to get some experienced opinions if I can. Its a 2.6 as far as I can tell even though the registration says 2.0. My friend would be using it as a daily driver and possibly looking to modify it in the future.

How does it stack up?

The engine description on the ad says 1900cc's, so 2.0 sounds closest.

Doesn't it show a 2.6 motor in picture 6? I had a 2.3 that was registered as a 2.6. Sometimes when they are imported there is a mix up in New Zealand.

its definitly a 6 cylinder in the photo.....weird

I should be able to get a good deal from him then. Besides from the usual what should I look for when I take him to go see it?

Any sort of coolant leaks, if you drive it check for hesitation when giving it gas and the like. Same basic stuff you look for on any car. If the economy gauge isnt completely to the left in the white when in park then there's a vacuum leak somewhere. It may affect performance it may not. Mine doesn't seem too but the econo gauge isn't all the way to the left when the car is in P or neutral

cool thanks. I think we are looking tomorow so I'll let you know how it goes. Hopefully it isnt like mine was and in need of a 3 grand overhaul
