Well, my 190E just will not crank in cold weather. The local Mercedes mechanic I take my car to couldn't figure out what was wrong because on the day I had it towed to him it started up every time he tried it (of course, it was warm weather when it got to him). He replaced the Distributor cap and rotor because they had a lot of carbon build up and generally looked real bad. The car was running a lot better when I got it back but then this morning a cold front moved in and it just won't start. Could this be a gas pump problem or what?

I also had a new alternator and battery put in a couple weeks ago. The spark plugs/wires are nearly brand new.

Ok. Well, I guess the problem isn't weather related because the car wouldn't start again on Saturday and it was a warm day. It started and ran fine on Friday. I didn't try it Sunday but this morning it wouldn't start. I believe it's a fuel problem because when pumping the gas you can usually smell fuel after a few pumps as the engine gets flooded but I don't smell anything. I guess it's time to check the relays/etc. Anyone else ever have a similar problem?

Cool, thanks. I'll get the mechanic to check it. It's kinda strange what happens though....

Cool, thanks. I'll get the mechanic to check it. It's kinda strange what happens though. Some days like today it starts right up in the morning and starts fine all day and then on other days it won't start til the afternoon and on other days it won't start at all. I've also been keeping it in the garage since this started happening to rule out the weather parameter.
