It takes approx 12 cranks before the engine starts.
What could possibly be the problem?
Have changed plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor. Using bosch copper core plugs. Need help.

After auto has been running for a while and then sits for approx 2 hrs, it starts right up.
However, when auto sits over night it takes approx 12 cranks before car starts. NEED HELP.

Try using original bosch spark plugs and check the coil! Also, clean throttle body with carb cleaner!
When I had my 16valve, it would always start on the second crank!

It sounds like you are using the correct plugs.

With out going into the long discription. Your problem is fuel related. Most likely the coolant temp. sensor.

Ether the inj. system doesn't know it needs to inrich the mixture or its not capable of doing it.

Even if the weather is 75 deg. F that is not warm as far as an engine is concerned.

The most comon failure is the temp. sensor for the inj. system and if that checks out ok then you may want to make sure the Idle Air Control Valve is working properly, they sometimes get stuck or gummed up with gunk inside.

Do a search for coolant temp sensor and testing. Once you have fixed it or given it the ok after testing come back with the results.

P/S I would just replace it its cheep and if it hasn't failed it will at some time.
