Hi All,
I absolutely love my 190DT sans one thing, on wet roads (even without aggressive driving) my car has a tendency to lose traction and fishtail when shifting between 1st and 2nd gear and whenever going around any real corner. My question then is: are there any stock-looking wheels that are wider which can be mounted to an 87' 190DT?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The stock 16V wheels are wider, 15X7. The 8 holes from the W202 are 15X7 and can be found pretty cheap. Going up to 16 in the SL from the early 90s had the same looking 15 holes the 190 had, I think in 16X7.5 and 16X8.

There's many options.

That actually sounds fantastic.

I've never messed with aftermarket or replacement wheels, would there be any fit problems (that you can think of) from mounting a 7.5" or 8" wheel on a bone-stock 190DT?

Tire quality and design is more imortant than wheel width for wet traction. Mine does it as well because the diesels can have a hard 1-2 shift and the 2.5DT make good torque at low rpms.

Your 2.5TD has very good power for this W201 body , wider tires is more like DTM looks and stability associates with a good tire thread design , stay with comfort and road huger from Michelin MXV4 you gonna luv theses..
Best part of MB is 5 lugs pattern are the same @ 112 x 7" up to 8"1/2 and ET30 and up to 45 will fit good on this W201 body.
