190 2.6 Manual torque capacity

905 1
I just bought a '92 190E 2.6 with a 5-spd. (Score!) It needs more power, so I'd like to know how much more torque that manual transmission can handle. And is there a clutch suitable for it? Maybe Centerforce makes an appropriate fitment?
In short, how far can I take this thing before I frag the tranny or the diff?
The lists out there all say that the best way to generate more power is to bolt in the 217HP 24V .980 motor from a 300CE, which sounds nice but that's about 50% more HP than stock. I'd be surprised if even a Benz part was built with that kind of safety factor in mind.
Oh, and does anyone know where I can find production numbers for these cars? I'm curious as to how many 5-spd 2.6's are out there.
