;)Are any of you guys running 18x9 wheels on all 4 corners of your MB E320 with success ? What worked best for you ? I will assume offset to be ET35

I'm not, but I've sometimes considered 18s. Just wondering why are you looking at 9" width? Usually on the 210 chassis it's 18x8. (Staggered setups do 9" width in the rear.)

That said, ET35 is the nominal for the 8", so you'd probably want more like 31-33 for 9".

And that said, I'd suggest you work with a vendor you trust, so you have recourse if you're not happy.

Good luck.

I went down the 18" road once for 6 month and went back to 17". I would copy the E55 wheels specs if i were you.

^^^ 6 months...that must have been a long road. ;) Ride comfort is my greater concern, which is why I've never done anything besides consider. When I replace my tires, in fact, I'll be going to a 50 series to get a bit more ride quality. I'm losing some width, but it will still be a little more than the stock, so I'm not worried.

Its funny how comfort becomes more important as you get older. I will not go to 18" again. 17" wheels are a good balance for me:surrender:

^^^Hey, no need for name callin'. Good to see you slummin' BTW.

On your new S, is that 17? You could go to 18s on that dawg and be fine. Speaking of which I'm watching your 220 thread, but still no pics. What's up with that?

carlsson

Well good point on the AMG setup, I wanted to go with that but I ended up buying the Carlsson 1/6 Diamond edition that were for sale on here. I really liked them and he was running them on his 2000 wagon. You know easy upgrade to the factory wheels and non staggered for rotation purposes, which I believe in. I have two MB's 01 wagon and an o1 sedan both E320. I am driving the crap out of my sedan and just really liked the look of the wagon and just wanted to personalize it a little. I will be getting 225/40/18 tires with the wheels, of course with about half tread or less so I had thought about upgrading later to a 235/40/18 tires. I will probably test fit the wheels and check all clearances and maybe buy a used 235 to test front and rear this spring. I have a left side lower ball joint to fix first, not bad yet but a little slack, along with an alignment, first. So I was just curious what other guys may be running this wheel and tire combo. I am older so I like ride comfort to, that being aid I am like frosted mini wheats, the frosted side satisfies the kid in me.

Ive done 18x8.5 with a 25mm spacer and 215/40 tires (front, larger in the rear) and I had no issues. With 18x9 et 35 and 225/40 tires I believe you will be fine. Im not sure about your car, but if it isnt lowered, it will look out of place with such small tires and inches of wheel gap. The ride quality will go down as well, but I suspect you know that.
