Hi everyone, new to the forum.
Chasing an issue with my 180E, in particular fuel delivery.
I bought the car recently as a non-runner from an old friend. Ive since replaced the OVP relay fuse which was blown, and reconnected a hose fallen off leading to the Idle valve. Replaced fuel pump and filter. After getting no fuel pressure (other than the initial pump priming) I managed to get the car running by bridging the fuel pump relay across pins 7 & 8 so pump ran constantly. The car ran well, although will not idle. I figured it was probably just a dead fuel pump relay.
Now tracing the idle issue, ive found another fuel pump relay (green 4 pin) in a box in front of the fuse box. Mercedes part number comes up as a fuel pump relay for a W201. Has a 30 amp fuse. Testing this relay it works fine. Now when I reinstall the black pump relay behind the battery, and bridge the 'green relay' the car self primes of the key, starts and runs. Although still wont idle.
Anyone else had any experience with this green pump relay? Seems to be non-existent on internet forums..
Thanks,
Dave
