Hi Guys!

Visitting from the 126 forum... ;)

I'm thinking about buying a 124T instead of my current 500sec; so I was wondering if I can keep my 18" monoblocks? They are 8x18 ET20 (235/40) in the front and 9x18 ET27 (265/35) in the rear... will they fit??

all the best

I think the rears might just be too wide - I have 8.5 / 245 wheels & tires in the rear of mine & there really isn't any more room to play - plus I had my arches rolled to accomodate. 265 rear tires will alomst certainly rub - I have seen many w124's with 18's & 225 / 35 section tires all round with no rubbing but the ride is apparantley quite harsh. Never say never though.

Hey there.. thnx for your answer... what do you think about the offset - is it possible to fit these wheels on the 124?

Check out posts by BadBenz94 He has 18's on his. I actually have some custom offset DPE wheels on my car from a E55. They stick out a little in the back, but I like them. They are 10.5 wide.

I have AMG monoblock II replicas on my 300ce. They are 18x8 all around, running 225's. I too am worried that 9" rears will be too wide for a 124. It has been done before, but that's a super tight fit.

ET20 will not work for sure. This is your biggest problem here. You will definitely need spacers. I can't remember off the top of my head, but the offset of my wheels is around ET32.

Even with my 18x8's on 225's, I had to roll the fenders in order for them to fit. I have very slight rubbing in the fronts in the area where the lower plastic moldings meet the sheet metal.

You're going to get new tires and spacers if you use your current wheels for sure. That's going to cost you enough and cause enough of a hassle that I would recommend just selling your current wheels and buying new ones. Personally, I like the look 18's better, but 17's are much easier to deal with.
